Note counter for new euro notes
The issuance of the new banknotes of euro by the European Central Bank obliges us to update the software of the banknote counter. Faced with this challenge, companies in the sector are forced to develop new software (each time they issue a new banknote), which is capable of reading the new euro banknotes as well as the old ones.
As a result of the new euro banknotes, the new software has more banknotes registered, that is, the old ones and the new ones and therefore, it takes up more space, which forces us to use boards with a larger memory capacity. As of today, with the latest issue of the 20 euro banknote, the memory registers 11 different banknotes, 8 from the old series and 3 from the new one; 5, 10 and 20 euros.
The new euro banknotes feature improvements in security elements intended to minimize future counterfeit banknotes
Due to improvements in banknote security, the banknote counter must have a magnetic head of greater amplitude and in the case of the total counter, the magnetic head should also be 3D
Therefore, we can say that in order to count and detect the old and the new series of euro notes, the banknote counter must have a board with expanded memory as well as a magnetic head of larger dimensions than those used in previous counters.
