When should I update the NEW CHICAGO counterfeit bill detector?
There are two cases when the detector should be updated:
1. When the European Central Bank issues a new Euro bill. The new Euro bill can be of a new denomination or an existing one.
2. If a new counterfeit bill circulates that the CHICAGO detector is not able to identify as such.
The CHICAGO counterfeit bill detector has successfully passed the Bank of Spain's tests as 100% safe in detecting counterfeit bills. Therefore, it is capable of detecting all counterfeit bills circulating in the market.
How do I update the CHICAGO counterfeit bill detector?
I must keep the update cable that comes with the device.
I should contact Countermatic regardless of where I bought it, providing the serial number or invoice
Countermatic will send you an email with the new software that must be downloaded to the detector.
The download instructions are attached in the email.
Depending on the model of the counterfeit bill detector, the update is done via RS232 cable or USB cable for the NEW CHICAGO model.
Note: Only original Countermatic counterfeit bill detectors will be updated.
